Hello Bayview residents,

The architects for the new Bayview library have asked for community input for the exterior art panels that will be inspired by the history of the Bayview on the sides of the new branch (see attachment). Please send in images related to the history of Bayview Hunters Point or some themes (shipyards, 1966 riot, African American migration , Ohlone history, Chinese presence, etc.) that might be depicted. Send them to lbrooksburton@sfpl.org by e-mail or bring them into the branch and Linda will make sure that they get into the architects hands. Be advised that we cannot guarantee the use of every image and or idea we receive but we would like to consider a range of suggestions. Please send in the images by April 15th, 2009. With your help and the guidance of the architects and the Branch Library Improvement Program (BLIP) we hope to create an exciting and interesting building that will showcase our community’s history.

Please pass on this message to your friends and neighbors. For more information on the new Bayview branch, check our website at http://sfpl.org/news/blip/bayviewsurvey.htm or www.sfpl.org/blip.
