The San Francisco Fire Department will be offering Neighborhood
Emergency Response Team Training to the Bayview District beginning on
Thursday, July 23.
The training will begin at 6:30 pm and end at 9:30 pm, each Thursday
night for six weeks. The classes will take place at the Bethel Grace
Lutheran Church Hall, at Woolsey and Goettingen.

arrests of interest:

June 30, 2009-Assault w/bleech, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Possession of
Air Gun-12:00-Palou/Jennings-CN#090665755:
Members of Bayview’s housing team responded to a call regarding a Muni
bus driver who had bleach thrown in his face by a juvenile passenger.
The victim was not seriously injured during the incident.
Officers searching the area for the suspects detained four juveniles who
matched the description of the culprits. The juveniles were detained
and the officers discovered that one of the suspects had a BB rifle
suspended from a rope beneath his jacket. The individual with the BB
gun was taken into custody and the others were released.

June 29, 2009-Terrorist Threats, Warrant Arrest-2:57pm-1600 blk of
Davidson-CN#090662767:
Officers Hargreaves and Misaghi responded to a store regarding a
customer threatening an employee. The officers separated the subjects
and spoke with the victim who stated that the suspect threatened to blow
up the store and shoot him in the head. The victim called for police.
As the officers placed the suspect under arrest, he yelled at the
victim, “I am gonna come back and get you!” While transporting the
suspect back to Bayview Station, he also threatened the officers.

June 30, 2009-Robbery, w/force-5:02pm-100 blk of Westpoint
Rd-CN#090599007:
Members of Bayview’s housing team received information from a robbery
inspector regarding a wanted suspect. Officers were in the area of
Westpoint Rd when they saw several of the suspects. Officers called for
additional units and together they took the suspects into custody.


Incidents of interest:

June 30, 2009-Assault w/pepper
spray-6:05pm-LaSalle/Osceola-CN#090667240:
Officers Graves and Johnson were dispatched to a call regarding an
aggravated assault. Officers arrived on scene and found a Medic who was
attending to a victim who had been sprayed with pepper spray. The
victim’s friend told officers that she and the victim had exited the
Muni bus on LaSalle and was walking towards her house when an unknown
subject jumped out of a car and pepper sprayed the victim in the face.
After the attack, the suspect got back into the car and drove off.
Officers searched the area for the suspect to no avail.

June 30, 2009-Embezzlement, Grand Theft-5:07pm-300 blk of
Potrero-CN#090666888:
Officers McCormick and Skaug responded to a store regarding an employee
who was stealing from the daily deposits. The store manager called the
bank and discovered several deposits were missing. Officers spoke with
the suspect, who gave officers a full confession. The suspect was placed
under arrest and transported to Bayview Station.

June 28, 2009-Aggravated Assault w/gun-8:00pm-3rd/Quesada-CN#090662911:
Officer Fuentes and Training Officer Johnson responded to SFGH
regarding a walk-in gunshot victim. Officers spoke to the victim, who
stated that he was shot last night near the corner of 3rd/Quesada. The
victim further stated that he did not go to the hospital until today
because he did not have a way to get there. Officers went back to the
area where the victim was shot, but found no evidence, witnesses or
other victims.

Robberies:

June 30, 2009-Robbery w/gun-1:11 pm-1700 blk of LaSalle-CN#090664412:
Officers Cloud and Gritsch responded to LaSalle regarding a robbery
incident. The officers spoke with the victim, who stated that he was
walking to the front door of his house when someone called out to him.
The victim turned around and was confronted by a gun toting suspect who
demanded the victim’s money and then threatened to shoot him. The
victim quickly jumped behind his security gate and the suspect ran from
the area. The victim was not injured during the incident. A robbery
inspector responded and took over the investigation.




June 29, 2009-Robbery w/force-7:05pm-3rd/LaSalle-CN#090663715:
Officers Johnson and Graves responded to 3rd/Paul regarding a robbery
report. Officers spoke to the victim, who stated that he was on the Muni
T line when an unknown subject walked up to him and grabbed his Ipod out
of his hands. The suspect jumped off the train at the next stop and ran
from the area. The victim was not injured. Officers did not locate any
suspects.

June 28, 2009-Robbery w/force-4:15pm-100 blk of Middlepoint
Rd-CN#090659253:
Members of Bayview’s housing team responded to Middlepoint Rd regarding
a report of a robbery. Officers spoke with the victim who stated that
she had just come home, when an unknown suspect ran up behind her and
grabbed her purse. The victim stated she struggled with the suspect to
get her purse back, to no avail. The suspect ran from the area, with
the victim’s purse. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Burglary: no arrest:

June 30, 2009-2:00pm-1400 blk of Newcomb-CN#090667955:
Entry made through a broken front door lock. Loss was a money order,
money and a gold chain.

June 29, 2009-11:30pm-1200 blk of Bacon St-CN#090663436:
Entry made a back window that had been left open. Loss was two watches.

Graffiti Alert: $250.00 Reward Program
Day Watch Sergeant, Ava Garrick, is Bayview Station’s Graffiti Abatement
coordinator. Each month she collects surveys from the various beat
officers to report graffiti to DPW and our own Graffiti Unit within the
police department. You can contact Sgt. Ava Garrick at ava.garrick
@sfgov.org.

311 Customer Service Center:
What is 311? 311 is a toll free, NON-EMERGENCY phone number that the
public can call to access information about government services. A live
customer service representative will be available 24 hours a day, seven
days a week, and 365 days a year. The service is available to both wired
and wireless customers. Wireless customers should call (415) 701-2311.
311 employees will be able to provide translations services in more than
145 languages and dialects and will employ a diverse staff of customer
service representatives. TTY users and customers outside San Francisco
should dial 415-701-2323.
